Our Home Missionaries

Greg and Lea Floars

Greg and Lea Floars have gone as Joint Project Home Missionaries with the state of Michigan to establish a new Free Will Baptist church in Marquette. This area is located close to the Canadian border and is considered to be an isolated area for Free Will Baptists. In the area is a community, Sawyer that once served as an Air Force base. It closed down a few years ago, but within the last two years, the government has started developing it into a new community. At this time, there is only one Lutheran church located there. This presents a tremendous need and opportunity for establishing a bible-believing church and Christian witness. Please pray for Greg and Lea and their children, Laura, Rachel, and Caleb, as they continue to work planting a Free Will Baptist church in Marquette.

Jeff and Charissa Isaacs

Rev. Jeff Isaacs and wife, Charissa, are now ministering in the Berea Free Will Baptist Church in Battle Creek, Michigan, as Joint Project missionaries with the state of Michigan.  Jeff and Charissa are coming to this project from a pastorate in Tennessee. There are more than 100,000 people in the Battle Creek area, and this is the only Free Will Baptist church located there. Please pray for Bro. Jeff and his family as they continue in the planting of this soul-winning, mission-minded church. The Isaacs have two children, Clay and Sarah.

Their mission work began in the hearts of several California pastors who had a burden for beginning a new church in the Castaic community. Their burden was also adopted by our National Association and we thank God for their vision. Pastor Keith Bartlett, his wife Janet, and their three children arrived in Castaic in December of 1998. They began a Bible Study in their home in May of 1999. The Bartlett Family was joined by Associate Pastor Ray Hollifield and his wife Iris in August of that same year. The Bible Study outgrew their home and in September of 1999 they began holding services in the Stonegate Recreational Center. During this time all the necessary permits were attained and we had our "Ground Breaking Ceremony", December 6, 1999. It took more than a year to complete the building but the church opened on Easter Sunday, 2001. In October of that year the church opened Sloan Canyon Preschool and in September of 2002 opened Sloan Canyon Christian Academy with a kindergarten Class. Since then the next grade level has been added each year.
